This is in reply to your note of 18 July to Ralph Gorin.

We have no current work in the traditional pattern recognition
areas.  In fact, such work is not generally regarded as belonging
to the field of AI anymore.

We do have some active research on perception of three-dimensional
objects using digitized television images.  This is in support
of our robotics work, which involves the use of mechanical arms
to assemble various devices.  If you need more information, we
have a few reports available.
